155/365.
Tuesday, June 4th.
You're obsessed with bubbles. If you couldn't hear the giggling, your facial expressions would look pained.
You squint your eyes and hold up your hands in front of your face.
You're funniest little human I've ever met and I'm so glad you're mine.

Wednesday, June 5th.
I bought you a potty today, then bribed you to sit on it with books.

Thursday, June 6th.
I put your hair in pigtails for the first time today. There's nothing as sweet as a little girl with pig tails.

Friday, June 7th.
We went out to New York Pizza Department for dinner and you got your very own kids cup for the first time.
You kept turning it over in your hands excitedly to look at all the animals, spilling water, and yelling
'uh oh, uh oh, UH OH!" until we acknowledged your messy skills.

Saturday, June 8th.
We went to Grape and Grain to get some things for Papa to brew a batch of beer this weekend and
you were being so silly squishing your nose on the vinyl door flaps.
And I was having a nervous breakdown inside (Is she really putting her mouth on that?
Oh my gosh, she is - the germs, disgusting. . . let her be a kid, BUT THE GERMS!)

Sunday, June 9th.
As I pull into the driveway, the sound of you in deep sleep coming from the back seat,
I'm in disbelief that we will leave this house, that the present will become a memory.
We enjoy this space so much, mostly because you enjoy it so much. You love to run wild in the backyard,
chasing the chickens, pointing at the neighbors dogs, collecting rocks and leaves and sticks.
Sometimes it seems like all this project is, is picture after picture of you standing in the backyard,
but I cherish these photos. Someday we'll all look back on them and talk about the adventures and bike rides
and cool desert air. Often I wish we could stay here forever, but we're young and have adventures ahead of us
that will yield many more collections of memories. I look forward to those, but the anticipation of what is to come
is bringing about a desire to live more in the right now than ever before.

Monday, June 10th.
Your morning ritual is to run into the kitchen and lay on the floor while I make breakfast. (I think it's because the tile is cool, I'm not sure.) Sometimes I capture the simplest moment out of desperation for a photo that day and it becomes my favorite - laying on the floor with a mouth full of food showing me where your belly button is - this is one of them.

    1. Thank you! We haven't done it again since - she was blessed with my thin hair and I can't find any pony tail holders that will stay in her hair. :\
